Cordelia Sky to Launch Southeast Asia Cruises from India in 2027
Cordelia Cruises is set to expand its international footprint, with the Cordelia Sky scheduled to operate the line's first series of regular Southeast Asia sailings in mid-2027, according to Cruise Industry News.
Currently sailing for Norwegian Cruise Line as the Norwegian Sky, the 2001-built ship is due to join Cordelia's fleet later this year, kicking off its inaugural India season with short cruises from Mumbai and Goa. The vessel is currently completing a farewell European season for Norwegian Cruise Line before its October 2026 Cordelia debut.
Chennai to Singapore: The New Southeast Asia Route
In late June 2027, the ship will reposition to Chennai to begin a series of seven-night cruises sailing between India and Singapore. These open-jaw itineraries include stops in Malaysia at Langkawi and Port Klang, along with an overnight call in Phuket, Thailand, plus two full days of cruising across the Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal.
Based on Cordelia's published deployment plans, eight departures are scheduled between late June and late August 2027 — giving Indian travellers a rare direct option to combine a Southeast Asia holiday with a cruise departing from a home port.
Back to Short Cruises from West India
Once the Southeast Asia season wraps up, the Cordelia Sky will return to Mumbai for a mix of two- to five-night sailings covering destinations in West India and the Lakshadweep archipelago, including Agatti Island and Mormugao. The ship will also offer itineraries to Cochin and cruises to nowhere, joining fleet-mate the former Empress of the Seas.
A Growing Fleet for Cordelia Cruises
The Sky's expansion follows Cordelia's 2025 fleet deal that also brought in sister ship Norwegian Sun, set to be renamed Cordelia Sun. That vessel is scheduled to make its Indian debut in November 2027, further growing Cordelia's presence in the domestic and regional cruise market.
