Disney Cruise Line has signed a 15-year agreement with Huna Totem Corporation guaranteeing preferred weekly docking at Icy Strait Point, securing the Indigenous-owned Alaska destination as part of its itineraries through at least 2041, the company confirmed in a press release.

The deal gives Disney Cruise Line priority access for one ship per week at the port, along with a minimum annual passenger guarantee. Jose Fernandez, the line's vice president of port strategy, development and operations, said Icy Strait Point has been part of its Alaska sailings for nearly a decade, giving guests a chance to experience the region's wildlife, scenery and Indigenous culture.

Disney expanded its Alaska programme in 2026 to two ships, with select seven-night sailings on the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder calling at the port.

Icy Strait Point sits on the shores of Hoonah and is owned by Huna Totem Corporation, an Alaska Native corporation representing more than 1,850 shareholders with ties to Glacier Bay. It's the largest employer in Hoonah and has welcomed over four million cruise visitors since opening in 2004.

Huna Totem Tourism Group president Howard Sherman said each Disney visit supports local jobs and economic opportunity in the community.

For travellers eyeing an Alaska cruise, this long-term agreement signals continued, reliable access to one of the region's most culturally significant ports for years to come.
